 1) Do same sex couples qualify for NHS fertility treatment on initial presentation (assuming they meet all other IVF funding requirements asked of heterosexual couples e.g. not having an existing child)?

2) If they do not automatically qualify, what steps do they have to take before they do qualify? For example, do they need to self-fund a certain amount of treatments, before proceeding to NHS IVF if these are unsuccessful?
