Public Consultation

During the public consultation people had the opportunity to have their say on the future of health services in Heanor. We asked people to give their views on a number of options, one of which was highlighted as our preferred way forward.

We produced a consultation document which provided the background to local health issues and then explained what options we have available to us to tackle the problem with asbestos and develop services which will serve the population of Heanor for years to come. We also included a more detailed document which we used to understand local health now and in the future and the way in which services are currently being used.

There was an online survey where you could give us your views. The survey is now closed.

We’ve also had help from local religious leaders to produce an audio recording of the consultation document so that people can listen to it if they have any reading difficulty. Listen to the audio recording here.

The consultation opened on Friday 11 July 2014 and closed at 5pm on Friday 8 October 2014.  A final decision on how health services will be developed in Heanor will be made in October 2014.

We held four meetings during the consultation period where people could listen to our proposals in more detail and give their views. The meetings took place on:

6.00 to 8.00pm, Heanor Town Hall

Wednesday 10 September 2014
