Erewash CCG and Southern Derbyshire CCG recognise the impact healthcare associated infections can have on individuals and are committed to promoting effective high quality care in a safe environment across all commissioned services. The Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPCT) work as part of the quality teams to support the commissioning processes and ensure required standards are met by working closely with other infection prevention and control teams across the region.  The team provide advice and support for GP practices and Care Homes to promote best practice and reduce the risk of infection, and have established Infection Prevention and Control Link Forums for Care Homes and GP Practice Nurses. ECCG & SDCCG Infection Prevention & Control Care Home Forums

The Care Home Infection Prevention and Control Link Forum has been established to provide Infection Prevention and Control support to all care homes within the area served by Erewash and Southern Derbyshire CCGs.  All homes are encouraged to identify an Infection Prevention and Control Lead for their home, who will act as the initial contact point for residents and their families along with other care home staff and visiting professionals to encourage and support best practice in the care home.  For further information or to book a place at the next meeting please contact the IPC team via the contact details provided.

The IPC Practice Link Champions will act as the role model within Practice and facilitate further learning amongst colleagues and their individual teams.
