Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS)

Southern Derbyshire CCG funds the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) for patients across Derbyshire. The service is operated by East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) who assess your eligibility during the booking process to ensure there is a medical need for a NEPTS journey.   

NEPTS has adopted existing regional and national eligibility criteria for patients who live and are registered with a GP in Derbyshire. As resources are limited and focussed on patients with the most need there is an eligibility criteria set out nationally and must be met in order to access the service. If you are in receipt of a higher rate enhanced mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payments (PIP), you will no longer be eligible and will need to make alternative arrangements.
